Happy belated Veterans Day to all the veterans! Many celebrations were held over the weekend in the several towns around us. I think it’s awesome when the schools have programs that involve veterans as well as the students.

What is “xenodochial?” The rain we got last week, measured up to 8-10” in places. We’ll take the rain. It’s much better than what family and friends were getting in the panhandle. One friend who lives in Felt, Okla. told me they had 24” of snow Friday and that it was still falling! I’m not ready for that wet stuff.

We offer our sympathy to the families of Jeannie Darnold and Linda Ferguson. We offer our sympathy to all others who lost loved ones this past week. May they all rest in peace.

Many of you remember Bernie Blevins, who went to school in Toronto, before transferring to Yates Center. He passed away and left $7.2 million to the Allen County Community College for scholarships and for the girls sports department.
