The Eureka Tornado football team was once again outmatched last Friday night, during their Homecoming game, as they face a ranked Humboldt squad and lost 0-62.
The young Tornadoes made it through the toughest part of their schedule without any major injuries and had moments of success. “For the past three weeks we have talked about how these teams are what we want to become, to see what a stable program looks like and if we want to get there the extra effort we need to put in,” stated head coach Jonah McKee. “The boys accepted the challenge head on and never broke faith in each other and will come out of this tough three game stretch better for it,” he continued.
Next week the Tornadoes will take on the West Franklin Falcons on the road and look to right the ship. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. Eureka will then host Council Grove on October 13, for their final game of regular season. This event will the annual Parent’s Night event, as well as include the Tiny Tornadoes performances.
