Members of the Eureka Junior High wrestling team began their short season last Tuesday, Nov. 5 in Burlington. The Tornadoes then hosted the annual Tri-Valley League meet on Thursday, Nov. 7. Eureka claimed 11 first place medals and 12 second place medals during their first week of action.
Eureka was scheduled to compete in Fredonia on Monday of this week, before traveling to Cherryvale this Thursday, Nov. 14. The Tornadoes will host their annual meet next Thursday, Nov. 21 and conclude their season in Coffeyville on Friday, Nov. 22.
Following are the results for Eureka participants: 25th Annual ‘Cat Classic’ Boys 60-65: Nolan Morris placed 1st. He won by fall over Trenton Lewis (Bluestem) (Fall 0:54); and won an 8-1 decision over Trenton Lewis (Bluestem).
Boys 82-87: Cooper Wunderlich placed 4th. He lost by fall to William Lueker (Prairie View) (Fall 0:57); lost by fall to Ramsey Moore (Central Heights) (Fall 1:49); and lost a 3-16 major decision to Hunter McKinnis (Erie).
