Lady Tornadoes Claimed Hardware At 2A State

Despite the rain and muddy conditions at Wamego Country Club on Saturday, Nov. 2, two Lady Tornadoes claimed 2A State hardware.

Lady Tornado juniors Rose Buck and Britta Mongeau were among 103 girls to qualify for the state tournament.

Buck claimed her third state medal, placing third on Saturday with a time of 20:17.93. She placed sixth at the state meet last year, also at Wamego Country Club, with a time of 20:09.82. Buck claimed a ninth place finish at the 3A meet her freshman year, completing the race with a time of 20:17.1.

Mongeau claimed her first state medal, placing thirteenth with a time of 21:27.04. This was her second state appearance.

Claiming top honors at the 2A State meet, for the second consecutive year, was Madison Howland of Smith Center, who ran the race with a time of 18:50.76.

Buck is the daughter of Dan and Pam Buck of Eureka.

Mongeau is the daughter of Brian and Vandetta Mongeau of Eureka.
