A Pizza Hut fundraiser is planned for Wednesday of this week, with proceeds benefiting Rhonda Ward.
Ward was life flighted to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita and underwent emergency open heart surgery on Thursday, Sept. 19.
She has been hospitalized since and has had to undergo kidney dialysis. Plans were for Ward to be transferred to Via Christi Rehabilitation Center for physical therapy and rehabilitation a few weeks ago; however, due to complications, Ward remains hospitalized in Wichita.
Ward works as a paraprofessional at Marshall Elementary School, in Eureka. She also began serving as a bus driver for Eureka USD 389 this year. Over the summer, she also served the district as a full time custodian.
Rock The Red / #RollWithRhonda bracelets are also available in support of Ward at The Eureka Herald. Cost is 1 for $3 or 2 for $5.
Monetary donations may be sent in care of The Eureka Herald, PO Box 590, Eureka, KS 67045. Checks should be made payable to Rhonda or Terry Ward.
Customers ordering during the benefit this Wednesday, Nov. 6, are asked to mention the fundraiser when ordering.
