The Eureka Recreation Commission (ERC) has moved to digital sign-ups for the upcoming basketball season.
Those wishing to sign their child(ren) up for basketball this season are asked to scan the QR code at left or visit https://tinyurl. com/tv6zzdm3 and fill out the digital form.
Basketball through the ERC is open to children enrolled in first-sixth grades. Basketball season usually occurs during the months of January and February.
Each participant must provide his/her own athletic clothes and shoes (i.e., sneakers). Participants will wear mesh jerseys over their own athletic clothing. Team t-shirts for basketball will not be provided by the ERC.
Children enrolled in first and second grades will play on co-ed teams in Eureka. Matches for Eureka-based games are held on Saturday mornings, indoors at Eureka Junior/Senior High School in the Tornado Activities Center (TAC). Stadium seating is available. There is restroom access but there will not be a concession stand.
Children enrolled in third and fourth grades will be on gender-based teams and will play in Eureka, provided there are enough participants. If there are too few in that division, the third and fourthgrade teams will travel to Burlington, to play in their recreational league.
Boys and girls in fifth and sixth grade will play on gender-based teams and will travel to Burlington to play in their recreational league. Transportation will not be provided.
Deadline to sign up is Friday, Nov. 15. For additional information, contact ERC Director Derek Larcom at [email protected] or call 620-750-0165.
