Tornado Cross Country Competed At Central Heights

The Eureka junior high and high school Tornadoes traveled to Central Heights last Thursday, September 28. Following are the results: Lady Tornado Rose Buck placed second, with a time of 19:43.71 and Britta Mongeau placed ninth, with a time of 22:08.6, in the girls varsity 5K.

The Eureka junior high and high school Tornadoes traveled to Central Heights last Thursday, September 28. Following are the results: Lady Tornado Rose Buck placed second, with a time of 19:43.71 and Britta Mongeau placed ninth, with a time of 22:08.6, in the girls varsity 5K.

In the boys varsity 5K, Jonah Werner placed 29th with a time of 19:52.42.

In junior high action, McKenna McDonald placed 12th in the seventh grade 2-mile run with a time of 17:05.66.

Eureka’s Rose Owens placed 15th with a time of 16:05.53 and Reata Bogle placed 22nd with a time of 21:56.43 in the eighth grade girls 2 mile run.

Tavin Austin placed 19th with a time of 16:40.24, Brayden Buck placed 26th with a time of 17:35.96 and Cohen Marks placed 28th with a time of 18:23.43 in the seventh grade boys 2-mile.

Will Morris placed 3rd with a time of 12:26.29 in the boys 2 mile run.

Eureka will host their annual meet on Wednesday of this week, where junior high and high school participants will both compete at Eureka Country Club. Races are slated to begin at 3:45 p.m. This will be the final outing for junior high competitors. High school runners will travel to Fredonia on October 12 for Tri-Valley League action before competing at regionals on Saturday, October 12, Cherokee- Southeast Regional in Girard-Greenbush Course. The girls will run at 10 a.m., with the boys running at 11:10 a.m.
