Pitko Named Community Member Of The Month

On Friday, Oct. 25, Eureka resident Mike Pitko was recognized as “Community Member of the Month” for his continued volunteer efforts for the Eureka community.

Pitko was nominated by multiple people who witnessed him cleaning around and even painting the benches on Main Street. He was also nominated for his efforts with the Greenwood County Historical Society Museum and helping others when able. Pitko is the seventh recipient of the “Community Member of the Month” honor for 2024 and will now be eligible for “Community Member of the Year,” which will be voted on by community residents in December 2024 and January 2025. He will join Isaac Boone (March recipient), Ariel Treece (April recipient), Tammi Burtin (May recipient), Heather Fuesz (June recipient), Chris Cummings (July) and the Greenwood County Rodeo Association (Aug.) on the ballot.
