The Madison/Virgil USD 386 Board of Education meets regularly on the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. The following report was generated from the unofficial board minutes of the Oct. 14 meeting, which are subject to board approval.
President Dallas Luthi called the meeting to order at 7 p.m.
The regular September meeting and special October board meeting minutes and the agenda, with updates, were approved.
Dacia Brandt and Rob Vicin, with Opaa! Food Management Inc. gave a Food Service update.
The board approved the business by consent, including current accounts payable as detailed in the board packet totaling $182,360.53; the treasurer’s report; the activity fund report and the Workers’ Compensation policy recommended by KASB.
Information items discussed were FTE numbers from count day on Sept. 20, KESA and an Ag building update.
Mark Adams gave a Transportation update.
Principal Amanda Schild discussed Madison Elementary School activities, including cards made by students to send to hurricane victims, Custodian Appreciation Day, Trick or Treating and the Veteran’s Day Assembly.
Superintendent Tammy Baird gave updates to the Board on Madison Junior/ Senior High School activities, including LCL volleyball with regional volleyball held at Madison High School.
The board held a five-minute executive session for personnel matters. After retuning to open session, the board approved Jenn Boles as the 7th Grade Sponsor and Liz Kusmaul as Golf coach.
The meeting adjourned at 8:18 p.m.
