Tornado Volleyball Competed At 2A Regionals

On Monday of this week, the Lady Tornado volleyball team began post-season action at 2A Regional 2 in Quad C, at Pittsburg-St. Mary’s Colgan.

The Lady Tornadoes were seeded 14th (6-21) and will face Pittsburg-St. Mary’s Colgan (#3. 1718), West Elk (#6, 12-14) and Arma-Northeast (#11, 9-16). The top two from each of the four pools in Regional 2 will advance to Sub-State action on Saturday, Oct. 26. Press deadline occurred before the opening serve. Results from the event will be included in next week’s edition.

Last week, Eureka competed in their final triangulars for the 2024-25 season.

On Tuesday, Oct. 15, the Lady Tornadoes traveled to Cherryvale. Against the Chargers, the Lady Tornado varsity fell to Cherryvale 22-25 and 21-25; Junior Varsity (JV) won 25-13 and 25-16 and the C-team fell 22-25, 14-25.

Against Humboldt, the varsity squad fell 11-25 and 9-25; and the JV lost 19-25 and 13-25.

On Thursday, Oct. 17, the Lady Tornadoes hosted their final triangular with Parents/Senior Night.

Against Neodesha, the varsity team fell 9-25 and 15-25; JV won 25-23 and 25-23; and the C-team fell 16-25, 26-24 and 5-15.

In their final match of the evening, the Lady Tornadoes faced the Blue Devils of Sedan, with Eureka claiming both matches. Eureka’s varsity won 26-24, 23-25 and 25-12; and the JV won 25-17 and 25-15.
