THYRA Concluded 2023 Rodeo Series With Finals Weekend

The Top Hand Youth Rodeo finished their youth rodeo series with a Finals Weekend Rodeo, Banquet and Team Ropjng on September 30-October 1 at the Eureka Saddle Club Arena.

The Top Hand Youth Rodeo finished their youth rodeo series with a Finals Weekend Rodeo, Banquet and Team Ropjng on September 30-October 1 at the Eureka Saddle Club Arena.

Youth ages 18 years and younger, competed in roping, chute dogging, sheep, calf, steer, and bull riding, goat tying, poles and barrels. They competed in a total of five weekends of rodeos for weekend and year end prizes.

An open and youth team roping was held Saturday, September 30 with 126 teams participating. Mark Stueve and Colter Corpening won the Youth roping and Mark Stueve and Dex Hoelting won the Open.

A Finals Award Banquet and meal was held Sunday, October 1, at Memorial Hall. Amy Potter of Latham was the speaker for the event. Prizes were awarded to each contestant; buckles were given to Finals and Year End Event winners, and custom made saddles and belt buckles were given to the Year End All Around winners for a boy and girl in each age group.

Year End All Around Winners:

Pee Wee Boy - Levi Alcorn, Cesar Vale Pee Wee Girl - Kodi Barnett, Iola Junior Boy - Kamden Barnett, Iola Junior Girl - Mayley Decker, Eureka Intermediate Boy - Lane Moore, Winfield Intermediate Girl - Brentley Decker, Eureka Senior Boy - Kent Berken meier, Maple Hill Senior Girl - Kaylee Boots, Welda Judges for the weekend were Donnie McMaster and Cody Stapleford. Arena director was Justin Knowles.
