Eureka Woman Arrested On Drug Distribution Resulting in Death Charges

HUTCHINSON - On Wednesday Oct. 9, Officers with the Hutchinson Police Department Special Operations Unit arrested Shay L. Kane, 37, of Eureka, on a probable cause warrant for distribution of a controlled substance resulting in death, conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance resulting in death, and unlawful use of a communication device (13 counts). Her bond was set at $250,000.

According to the initial release from the Hutchinson Police Department, this arrest is associated with a fatal drug overdose that occurred in Hutchinson in June 2024.

The Hutchinson Police Department worked in conjunction with the Greenwood County Sheriff's Office and Butler County Sheriff's Office during the investigation and arrest of Kane.
