The Tornado football team got off to a fast start against the West Franklin Falcons on Homecoming night (Friday, Oct. 11) ending in a 58 - 2 victory. The Tornado defense got a quick stop followed up by a blocked punt by Peyton Hare.
Eureka needed just four plays to score their first touchdown on the night by Jace Hardenbrook. The Tornadoes wouldn’t stop scoring from there, including a safety on a punt by Kalim Mouer he would also score on a long run around the left side in the second quarter. Laken Valentine got in on the action with a 47-yard touchdown catch from Hare, Valentine would also add 7 tackles with a tackle for loss and a sack. TJ Mills was everywhere on Friday night taking back a punt 48 yards for a touchdown, as well as a 39 yard touchdown catch and run. On defense, Mills also recorded a huge sack of 25 yards. Dalton Pool also got into the end zone on a nice 10 yard touchdown catch by Hare. Hare would finish the night 7 of 9 through the air for 186 yards 3 touchdowns, 131 yards rushing adding two more touchdowns on the ground and on defense he recorded a sack. The Tornadoes look towards the Central Heights Vikings this upcoming Friday, Oct. 18.
