The Eureka Businesswomen Club met on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at TNT Catering in Eureka. There were 11 members and one guest present. The guest was Joel Laws, Eureka City Administrator, who presented the program for the evening. Roll call was answered by “Your name and what business you represent.”
Minutes of the last meeting were given and approved as read. The treasurer’s report was given and approved as read.
There was no correspondence or announcements.
There was a sign-up sheet passed around for homemade baked goods at the Eureka Annual Craft Show.
Businesswoman of the month, Becky Schaffer, was not present at the meeting.
The program for the evening was Laws. He informed the club of the city working on five grants and the cost share grant. He also spoke about the Eureka Street Sales Tax Initiative. Laws gave the club handouts with very beneficial information on the projects.
Door prizes were won by Tonya Casper and Diana Cole.
The club sang Happy Birthday to Janet Turner and Audra Hemingway, who have October birthdays.
Hostesses for the evening were MaryAnn Thornton and Beth Whitehead.
The club closed with the Club Collect.
