For the second consecutive week, Lady Tornado junior Britta Mongeau and seventh grader Nolan Morris claimed first place honors at a cross country invitational. This week, a total of five Torna does claimed hardware as they finished in the top 15 at the Oxford Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 26.
Mongeau ran a 5K this week, claiming first place with a time of 22:08.53 in the girls high school varsity race.
In the boys seventh grade race, Morris ran the 1-mile race with a time of 5:44.51, shaving nearly 9 seconds off his time. Fellow seventh grader Gavin Gonzalez also placed in the race, finish ing seventh with a time of 6:24.65. Also in the boys 7th grade race, Henry Linda-
mood completed the race in 7:24.82, finishing 31st.
In the high school girls junior varsity race, freshman Reata Bogle placed 7th in the 2-mile race with a time of 19.32.
Eureka senior Ethan Bau- er ran the varsity boys 5K, placing 29th with a time of 24:12.46.
In the boys 8th grade 2-mile race, Tavin Austin claimed a 13th place medal with a time of 14:10.77. Also representing Eureka were Braden Buck, 16th, 15:18.94; and Cohen Marks, 19th, 17:33.65.
The Tornadoes will travel to Central Heights on Thurs - day, Oct. 3 before hosting their annual invitational on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 3:45 p.m.
