Museum To Host Speaker Jim Hoy

Monday, Sept. 30 is the Fifth Monday program at the Greenwood County Historical Society. This presentation will be given by Jim Hoy, a Flint Hills historian from Emporia. The program will be held at the Greenwood County Museum, 120 W. 4th Street in Eureka. It will begin at 7 p.m. and is open to the public.

Hoy will speak on Kansas Legends and Folktales and include many stories of the Flint Hills. Those attending will recognize some of the names and history he relays. He will also discuss the difference between a myth, legend and tale.

The program is made possible by the Humanities Kansas’s Speakers Bureau.
