Tornado Football Claimed 38-26 Victory Over Chargers;

To Face Humboldt At Home This Friday The Eureka Tornadoes got off to another fast start in week 3, taking all of two plays against the Chargers last Friday, Sept. 20. in Cherryvale, to find the endzone.

Eureka’s Kalim Mouer darted 44 yard for the first score of the game, adding to an already impressive senior year. From there, Easton Mead forced and recovered a fumble on the kickoff. Peyton Hare found TJ Mills for a 26-yard pass, followed up by a Hare touchdown run the following play. After a 16-0 lead, the game became a slug fest with Cherryvale trading scores and punts. In the second quarter, Hare found Mills twice in the end zone on fourth downs, one for 4 yards and one for 15 yards. While the Chargers owned the third quarter, the Tornadoes drove the nail in the coffin on a 40 yard touchdown run by Hare. He finished the night with 178 total yards and 4 total touchdowns. The Tornado defense once again won the turnover battle with Tanner Biering forcing a fumble that Dalton Pool jumped on. Leading tacklers for the night were Hare with 9, Noah Rippy and Mouer with 8 and Laken Valentine, Mills and Will Fitzwater with 5.

Eureka won the game 38-26.

The Tornadoes now look forward to the Humboldt Cubs which will be a solid test, this Friday at home. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
