Cynthia Ann “Cindy” Ashlock, 70 of Erie, died on Friday, Aug. 30, 2024, at Kansas Research Medical Center.
She was born on Dec. 3, 1953, in Moses Lake, Wash. to Cecil and Luceil Wright. She grew up in Shawnee and spent her childhood summers at her grandparents farm near Buffalo. She graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School in 1972.
After high school, she moved to Eureka, where she spent most of her life until meeting her late husband Junior Richards, and moving to Erie, in 2013. They were united in marriage on July 8, 2015.
She is survived by one daughter Teria Ashlock of Owasso, Okla; seven grandchildren; and one sister, Vinita Hilburn of Shawnee.
She was proceeded in death by her son, Dominick Angelo; husband, Junior Richards and parents, Cecil and Luceil Wright.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, Oct. 6, from 1-3 p.m. at the Woodson County 4-H Community Building on South Fry Street in Yates Center. The family kindly asks everyone brings a side dish to share.
