Three Eureka youth qualified for the National Kids Pedal Pull, that will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Corn Palace in Mitchell, S.D.

Approximately 600 pedal pullers competed at the Kansas State Fair on Sunday, Sept. 8 with hopes of finishing in the top four of their age group and advancing to the national contest.

Eureka’s Kipton Ramsey (age 5), Freya Teter (age 6) and Noah Everly-Burtin (age 11) did just that.

Ramsey, son of Drew and Jenny Ramsey of rural Eureka, claimed fourth place in the boys 5-year-old division.

Teter, daughter of Zach and Beth Teter of rural Eureka, claimed championship honors in the girls 6-year-old division with a full pull.

Everly-Burtin, son of Matt Burtin and Natasha and Kevin Gravatt all of Eureka, placed fourth in the boys 11-year-old division.

All three have the opportunity to represent the State of Kansas at Nationals later this month.
