The Eureka Garden Club met for their first meeting of the year on Friday, Sept. 5, at TNT Catering. President Vicki Lindsey called the meeting to order. She expressed appreciation to Loria Howard and Rise Russin for serving as hostesses. Ten members and one associate member answered roll call. New committee members will be Cammie Wilson and Kathy Jackson: Mini Garden Committee, Sheila Hughes: Memorial Committee; and Carol Ann Flock: Courtesy Committee. Plans were made to have a Silent Auction in November and a Plant Exchange in April. Howard and Russin presented the program by having members share what they liked or wanted to see improved in the Mini Garden and their home gardens.
Door prizes were won by Marilyn Seymour and Sue McDonald. They were gift cards to Eureka Garden and Floral.
Hostesses for the October meeting will be Marilyn Cathey and Ann Coon.
The meeting was adjourned by standing and repeating “The Gardner’s Creed.”
