Two senior Lady Bulldogs were named to the Eureka Volleyball Invitational All-Tournament team on Saturday, Sept. 14, in Eureka, as seniors Jalynn Weakley and Candice Ashlock were named to the special team.
Madison went 1-4 for the day, winning their opening match over Eureka, 25-19 and 25-15. The Lady Bulldogs fell to Olpe, 19-25 and 23-25; Rose Hill, 16-25 and 8-25 and Independence 1525, 25-17 and 13-25.
Following the tournament, the top three teams were announced with undefeated for the day Rose Hill, claiming championship honors. Independence (4-1) was second and Fredonia (2-3) was third.
Coaches from the six schools (Eureka, Independence, Olpe, Fredonia, Madison and Rose Hill) also voted for eight student-athletes for the all-tournament team. The Lady Bulldogs will travel to Marais Des Cygnes Valley on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 5 p.m. before competing in the Olpe Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 28, at 8:30 p.m.
