On Tuesday, Sept. 3, members of the Greenwood County Rodeo Association were recognized as “Community Members of the Month” for their continued efforts in bringing the annual Eureka Pro Rodeo to the community.
This year marked the 13th year for the annual event. Committee members include: Luke and Rhonda Adkins, Caden Adkins, Wayne Bailey, Wes Bailey, Tyson Brenton, Shelby Bohl, Pam Brown, Jasey Burke, Missy Burtin, Edi Clark, Glen and Rachel Collinge, Joel Edmondson, Brent Escareno, Josh and Megan Gudde, Alan Johnson, Clint and Angie Johnson, Kris Martinsen, Ron Mast, Zach Mast, Craig and Kathy Miller, Brian and Vandetta Mongeau, Sheri Mundhenke, Jamie and Stephanie Nelson, Melissa Richard and John Teagarden.
The Greenwood County Rodeo Association is the sixth recipient of the “Community Member of the Month” honor for 2024 and will now be eligible for “Community Member of the Year,” which will be voted on by community residents in December 2024 and January 2025. They will join Isaac Boone (March recipient), Ariel Treece (April recipient), Tammi Burtin (May recipient), Heather Fuesz (June recipient) and Chris Cummings (July) on the ballot.
HowTo Nominate
To nominate a “Community Member of the Month,” simply send a letter with your name, the person’s name you are nominating and why you are nominating them for the honor. (Those wishing to remain anonymous can do so; but, the committee asks that your name and contact information be included in case committee members need additional information.) Letters should be sent to The Eureka Herald, PO Box 590, Eureka, KS 67045 or emailed to Robin Wunderlich at news@eurekaherald. com. Forms are also available at The Eureka Herald, LoMar Drive-in and the City of Eureka water office.
The committee is asking that nominations be submitted prior to the 15th day of the month. Committee members will then review the nominations and select the recipient.
