Lady Tornado senior Keira Crisswell tied for 7th at her season opener, last Wednesday, Sept. 4, shooting a 51 on the 9-hole round at Eureka Country Club.

The top 10 golfers were awarded hardware, with scores ranging between 49-53. Scorecard playoffs were held for second through eighth place. Caney’s Alexyus Theiss shot a 49 to claim top honors with her five teammates all turning in a score of 50. The Bulldogs claimed the team title with a four-person score of 199.

Crisswell and Haylie Grant of Council Grove both turned in a 51. Following a scorecard playoff, Crisswell was awarded the eighth place medal.

Council Grove placed second with a 225 and Fredonia was third with 234.

The schedule showed Crisswell competing at Sierra Hills for Andover Central’s tournament on Tuesday of this week. Eureka will then be represented in Caney on Monday, Sept. 16.
