Eureka Tornado junior high volleyball hosted the Lions of Bluestem for their first action of the 2024-25 school year last Thursday, Sept. 5.
Eureka claimed three of the four wins over the Lions. In A-team action, the Lady Tornadoes fell in the first set, 21-25; but, came back to win the next two sets, 25-19 and 15-10, to win the match.
In B-team action, the Lady Tornadoes claimed the victory in two sets, 25-19 and 25-13.
Eureka’s C-team lost a close first set, 23-25 and were unable to force a third, falling 13-25, in the second.
The Tornadoes’ D-team also took the Lions to three sets. They won the first, 25-21, lost the second 13-25 and won the third 15-9, to win the match.
Eureka’s junior high football team dominated the Lions with a 30-0 win. See related article.
The Eureka Tornado junior high volleyball and football teams will travel to Caney next Thursday, Sept. 12. Volleyball will begin at 4:30 p.m., with football slated for 6 p.m.
