Eureka Volleyball Competed At Olpe And Flinthills

The Eureka High School volleyball team opened their 2024-25 season last week. Eureka first traveled to Olpe on Tuesday, Sept. 4, before traveling to Rosalia on Thursday, Sept. 6 to face Flinthills and Conway Springs.

The Eureka High School volleyball team opened their 2024-25 season last week. Eureka first traveled to Olpe on Tuesday, Sept. 4, before traveling to Rosalia on Thursday, Sept. 6 to face Flinthills and Conway Springs.

The lone Eureka victory for the week was claimed by the junior varsity team who defeated Conway Springs in three sets.

At Olpe, the varsity team fell to Olpe in the first match, 25-16, 15-25 and 17-25. They also took the Eagles to three sets in the second match, falling 12-5, 26-24 and 22-25. In junior varsity action, the Tornadoes fell 21-25 and 20-25 in match 1 and 14-25, 25-23 and 9-15 in match 2. Eureka’s C-team also took the Eagles to three, but fell 14-25, 26-24 and 9-15. In D-team action, the Lady Tornadoes fell 18-25 and 19-25.

At Flinthills, the varsity Tornadoes fell to Conway Springs, 23-25 and 1625 and to Flinthills 8-25 and 19-25. The Lady Tornadoes defeated Conway Springs in junior varsity action, 25-23, 24-26 and 18-16. They fell to Flinthills 15-25 and 23-25.

Eureka was slated to compete at Yates Center on Tuesday of this week. The Lady Tornado C and D teams will travel to Marion on Thursday, Sept. 12 for dual action scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Eureka varsity will host their annual tournament on Saturday, Sept. 14, beginning at 9 a.m. See related article.
