This year, three organizations in Severy were selected as grant recipients.

The Severy Fire Department applied for grant funds to assist in the purchase of a FLIR infrared thermal imaging camera, which will significantly enhance their ability to pinpoint hot spots after structure fires or identify concealed hot spots when no fire is apparent. This camera will also allow for the detection of heat signatures, facilitating the identification of individuals or animals when necessary.

Harvest House Food Pantry serves the communities in both Elk and Greenwood counties. They provide free food for anyone in the area including produce, bakery items, meat and more. Harvest House is run entirely by volunteers, including West Elk FFA which helps with food deliveries.

The Severy Community Activities ( SCA) organization currently borrows picnic tables to use whenever there is an event in Severy. With the grant funds, the SCA plans to purchase picnic tables that will be a permanent fixture outside of the community building for all to enjoy throughout the year.
