Over the Labor Day holiday weekend, an 80-year-old woman was injured in a UTV accident in rural Eureka.
According to the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Of- fice, first responders were dispatched to an accident involving an UTV that had overturned in the river near 230th and H Road, shortly before 11 a.m on Saturday, Aug. 31.
When crews arrived, they found that Ellen Goheen was out of the vehicle that had overturned onto its passenger side, but she was stuck in the river due to a steep bank. Eureka Fire Rescue utilized a stokes basket to assist with getting Goheen up the bank. She was taken to the Greenwood County Hospital, where she was treated for her injuries.
