With hopes of serving the Eureka community more, the Eureka United Methodist Church (EUMC) has expanded services and activities.

With hopes of serving the Eureka community more, the Eureka United Methodist Church (EUMC) has expanded services and activities.

In addition to their 9:30 a.m. worship services each Sunday, the EUMC began “Sunday Adventures,” an informal 45-minute service with contemporary music and interactive sermons. The weekly service will begin at 5 p.m.

With school back in session, the EUMC’s Kids Club will return on Mondays at 4 p.m. The club is for youth in grades first through fifth.

Through a new “Island 220 N. Main Eureka, KS 67045 of Sanity” offerings, the EUMC will be hosting a free breakfast on the second Saturday of each month from 8 to 10 a.m. All are welcome to enjoy the breakfast with friends.

Each month, the EUMC selects a project within the community to collect items for. Throughout this mission, the church has collected items for older adults, duffle bags for foster children, food for the food pantry and funds for community emergencies. During September, EUMC will be collecting funds for children and youth activities.

On the third Thursday of each month, the EUMC Nancy Mock

provides music and sing-along at the Eureka Nursing Center at 10 a.m.

The second annual worship at Phillip’s Cabin at Eureka Lake will be held on Sunday, Sept. 29, at 10 a.m. The service will be followed by a potluck lunch and kids activities. The worship will include Oldtime hymn singing, abbreviated worship and special speaker, Jenny Collins. Other United Methodist Churches and other groups are planning to join us. The community is invited to join us.

The EUMC is located at the corner of 6th and Main Streets, in Eureka.
