The September meeting of the Madison Recreation Commission (MRC) was called to order at 6:05 p.m. on September 20, by Jason Albert. Roll call was answered by Ty Gaines, Dylan Barnard and Jenn Boles. Also present was Paul Dean.
Gaines made a motion to approve the August minutes. Barnard seconded. Motion passed 4-0.
Gaines made a motion to accept the agenda with addition of adding the Fall Fest and discussion on meeting start times. Boles seconded. Motion passed 4-0.
Gaines gave a report on the financials for the MRC. Boles made a motion to accept action items a, b, and c with the possible discrepancy on the bank credit card under supplies expenditure line.
Jon Larkin was not present to give a director’s report.
Gaines let the board know that the seniors won’t be able to do football concessions. There are only two games left.
The board received no letters of interest for the at-large seat. Dean is the only community member that has come to meetings to express his interest in the seat. Gaines made a motion to accept Dean for the at-large seat. Albert seconded. Motion passed 4-0.
Barnard made a motion to nominate Gaines as president. Albert seconded. Motion passed 5-0.
Dean made a motion to nominate Albert as vice president. Barnard seconded. Motion passed 5-0.
Boles made a motion to nominate Dean as secretary. Albert seconded. Motion passed 5-0.
Gaines made a motion to nominate Boles as treasurer. Barnard seconded. Motion passed 5-0.
A discussion was held on participating in Fall Fest. Boles made a motion to give $50 to the library for Fall Fest for the trunkor- treat. Gaines seconded. Motion passed 5-0.
Gaines made a motion to move meeting times to 7 p.m. starting in October. Albert seconded. Motion passed 5-0.
Gaines made a motion to adjourn. Albert seconded. Motion passed 5-0.
The next meeting will be held October 18, at 7 p.m.
