The Eureka Tornado cross country team traveled to Oxford to run at Napa Walla Park last Thursday, September 21, where all high school Tornado runners came home with hardware.
In the varsity boys 5K race, Jonah Werner placed 22nd, with a time of 21:26.80; and Davian Damron placed 25th,with a time of 21:45.90.
In the varsity girls 5K race, Lady Tornadoes Rose Buck and Britta Mongeau placed 1st and 2nd. Buck finished the race with a time of 20:32:10 and Mongeau ran the distance with a time of 23:02.41.

In the seventh grade girls 1-mile race, McKenna Mc-Donald placed 13th, with a time of 7:42.78.
In the eighth grade girls 2-mile race, Eureka’s Rose Owens placed 3rd, with a time of 15:34.73 and Reata Bogle placed 11th, with a time of 21:43.64.
Seventh grader Tavin Austin placed 30th, with a time of 7:34.84; Braden Buck placed 34th, with a time of 7:56.35; and Cohen Marks placed 38th, with a time of 8:12:31, in the seventh grade boys 1-mile race.
In the eighth grade boys 2-mile race, Will Morris claimed 1st place honors, finishing the run with a time of 12:00.92.
Central Invitational Times
On Thursday, September 14, the Tornadoes competed at the Central Invitational. Last week, The Herald shared the placings, but, times had not yet been shared. Following are the times for Eureka participants: Varsity Boys 5k Race:
Werner placed 11th, with a time of 20:39.77 and Damron placed 14th, with a time of 20:56.80 Varsity Girls 5k Race:
Buck placed 1st, with a time of 19:47.43; and Mongeau placed 2nd, with a time of 22:51.58.
7th Grade 1 Mile Girls:
McDonald placed 2nd, with a time of 6:45.62.
8th Grade 2 Mile Girls:
Owens placed 1st, with a time of 15:41.10; and Bogle placed 6th, with a time of 22:52.02.
7th Grade 1 Mile Boys:
Austin placed 18th, with a time of 7:12.41; Buck placed 23rd, with a time of 7:34.07; and Marks placed 27th, with a time of 8:00.47.
8th Grade 2 Mile Boys:
Morris placed 1st, with a time of 11:59.96.
