Eureka girls golf participated in two invitationals last week, bringing hardware home from both.
Cheney
The Tornadoes competed at the Cheney Invitational on Tuesday, September 19. The Lady Tornadoes narrowly missed claiming third as a team, finishing with a combined score of 414 for fourth.
Sixty golfers participated in the invitational.
Lady Tornadoes Kate Tourelle and Annaliese Casper, along with a golfer from Mulvane, tied for 3rd place. Following the tie breaker, Tourelle claimed 3rd. Following were the Tornadoes’ individual scores: Tourelle, 3rd, 93; Casper, 5th, 93; Keira Crisswell, 19th, 103 and Makyla Gore, 48th, 125.
Fredonia
Lady Tornado senior Casper claimed first place honors with a nine-hole score of 44 at Fredonia on Thursday, September 21. She and Celeste Schneider of Jayhawk-Linn both shot a 44, with Casper winning the scorecard playoff. Eureka’s Tourelle also claimed another medal, bringing home seventh place with a 50. Also representing Eureka were Keira Crisswell, tied for 16th, 57 and Makyla Gore, 25th, 64. As a team, the Lady Tornadoes claimed third with a score of 215. Fredonia won their home invitational with a four-person team score of 202. Girard was second with 203 and Independence was fourth with 231.
Eureka was next slated to participate at Uniontown September 25.
