Rockin’ Robin!

And, just like that, another Greenwood County Fair is in the books. It was a great weekend filled with all types of emotions. From excitement to grief and shock to happiness. The youth of Greenwood County didn’t disappoint. If you were unable to attend the various events, you missed out.

The competition was thick and I for one am thankful I wasn’t serving as a judge. Even judges (and those attending from other counties) remarked on the quality of showmen and exhibits Greenwood County had. Our youth (and their support crews) should be proud!

I would also like to thank the many adults and youth who assisted me with the backdrops, as well as checked in on me over the course of the busy weekend. It was very much appreciated.

Congratulations to Cash Fuesz for competing in the “Daddy of Them All” rodeos in Cheyenne, Wyo. Cash had a great week, earning the most money going into the final day and earned the #1 back number and roped the last of the 12 in the finals for tie-down roping. Cash caught and tied the calf, but was unfortunately disqualified because he took the rope off of the calf to protect his horse, which had stepped over the rope. Thankfully, both horse and rider walked away.

We are so proud of you, Cash! Good luck in all of your upcoming rodeos, including the Eureka Pro Rodeo in just a few weeks.

Supporting our youth is vital. They are our future! It won’t be long and tomorrow’s leaders will be returning to the classrooms and various extra curricular activities. Whether it be a music program, sporting event or a debate, I hope you are able to take the time and witness our future leaders at work.
