Fuesz Won Tie-Down Event At Pretty Prairie Rodeo On Saturday With A Time Of 8.3

From the early age of just three years old, Eureka’s Cash Fuesz had a passion for roping. His love for the sport of rodeo has grown over the years and now the 20-year-old can say he has competed amongst the best ProRodeo cowboys and cowgirls from the United States and Canadian Circuits, as well as champions from Mexico.

In the early 2000s, Fuesz could be found dummy roping in his backyard; and now the young tiedown roper is competing in rodeos across the nation and earning honors along the way.

Earlier this month, Fuesz competed in the NFR Open – Pikes Peak or Bust rodeo where he placed in the first round; and won the second round with a run of 8.1 which qualified him for the finals. He concluded the rodeo in seventh place. ProRodeo cowboys and cowgirls are eligible to compete at the NFR open by either earning the most money in their circuit division or by winning the average of three head.

With Fuesz winning the average at the Prairie Circuit Finals last October, he was one of just 27 tie-down ropers to get the honor of tie-down roping in Colorado Springs, Colo., July 9-13. Finishing among the top nine in tie-down ropers earned Fuesz a piece of the pie and confidence. He recently competed at Pretty Prairie on July 20, where he claimed top honors with a time of 8.3 seconds. He will return to Cheyenne, Wyo. this Wednesday, July 24 for the Cheyenne Frontier Days PRCA Rodeo, as Fuesz competed amongst 206 calf ropers and made the cut to rope in the perf this Wednesday.

Fuesz plans to compete in Abilene on July 30; Dodge City on Aug. 1; Winfield on Aug. 4 or 5; Mound City on Aug. 9 or 10; Coffeyville, Aug. 14 and 15 and locally on Aug. 16 or 17 at the Eureka ProRodeo, with others on the horizon.

Fuesz is a junior at Weatherford College, in Weatherford, Texas, where he is studying Organizational Leadership. He is the son of Cory and Heather Fuesz of rural Eureka and the grandson of Irlene and the late Clint Huntington, also of rural Eureka and Gary and Vicki Fuesz of rural Haxtun, Colo.
