Experience has shown KICA that Kansas elected representatives often act as a strong voice for the power of student choice in Kansas Higher Education. Their voices stand parallel with academic leadership and dedicated private partners to promote Kansas Independent Higher Education success. Foresight across all sectors brings outcomes such as, according to a 2022 impact study, a statewide impact of $1.1 billion.

Monday, September 18, KICA honored those elected voices with the Legislative Champion Awards. A ceremony was held to announce and honor the following 2023 winners: 2023 Legislative Champions of the Year Senator Michael Fagg (El Dorado) and Representative Chris Croft (Overland Park).
