Rockin’ Robin!

The end of July is upon us, which means... It’s Greenwood County Fair Week! This week is bound to be crammed full of events as area participants complete their exhibits for the annual event. Pre-fair events continued last Saturday with the annual horse show. Although there were fewer horses this year, the 4-Hers did great and the event was a success. Congratulations to Hannah Perrier and Jorja Beeman for receiving Grand Champion Gelding and Mare; and Hannah and Henry Perrier for earning high point horsemen in the senior and intermediate divisions.

If you’re able to attend the final pre-fair event, the annual style revue will be held at Madison High School this Wednesday at 7 p.m. The annual fair will be this weekend, concluding on Monday evening with the livestock sale. Come support our community 4-Hers and participate in the events various clubs/organizations/volunteers have made possible. Make sure to view the exhibits at the fair grounds and in the concourse building (upstairs and downstairs, including the Braden Room). See schedules on pages 3 and 10 for more information.

Good luck to all participants! As the fair comes to an end on Monday, prepare yourself for the month of August to fly by quicker as the month is already filling up with events. From the primary election and National Night Out to the Eureka Pro Rodeo followed by the first day of school for area students and fall sports to be in full swing. Life is bound to be full of activities. Take time to enjoy all the moments. One day, we will miss the crazy full schedules.
