With a unanimous decision, the Greenwood County Republican Committee (comprised of Republican precinct committeemen and committeewomen) voted to appoint Deann McCaffree to fill the position of Greenwood County Clerk following the resignation of former Clerk Kathy Robison. The special appointment was made on Tuesday, July 2. McCaffree has been serving as interim clerk since Robison’s resignation last month.
McCaffree filed for the position and will appear on the August primary ticket. She is running unopposed. She has worked in the Greenwood County Clerk’s Office for approximately 11 years.
