The City of Eureka has announced intentions of applying for additional funding under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Home Rehabilitation/ Neighborhood Development project. This funding is crucial for needed street repairs in the community.

To qualify for this funding, the city needs to demonstrate that the project will serve low to moderate-income residents in the project area. The selected target area is as follows: The east side of Poplar Street to the west side of Oak Street and the north side of River Street to the south Side of 3rd Street. A survey will be mailed to residents in the coming weeks, and participation is essential to help gather necessary information.

Please be assured that all information provided in the survey will be kept confidential and will be used solely for the purpose of pursuing funding to improve the community. The city asks that residents either return the survey to Eureka City Hall in the pre-paid envelope which will be provided, or put it in the drop box located outside of City Hall by Thursday, Aug. 1.

Questions and further information can be posed by contacting City Administrator Assistant Karen Simon at 620-583-6140.
