Mixed emotions have reached my heart, as I am overly excited to be through the crazy month of June; however, sad to know that the summer is that much closer to being over.
Last month, just like many other parents who push their children to be involved in “all the things,” I rarely knew what my schedule was or where I was even supposed to be. We all seemed to be in survival mode and although we may still be trying to recoup on sleep, we made it through the month where everything is crammed in.
Now, it is time to complete the various Greenwood County Fair projects, cram family activities in and begin the process of back to school. Thankfully, school for Eureka starts a little later this year and will give a little wiggle room.
We are always quick to complain about what did or didn’t happen. Or, worse yet... If someone tried to change something.. But, I just want to share gratitude to all those that helped put on activities for our Nation’s Independence Day. If you found yourself bored, I fully believe that you simply didn’t try as there were events happening throughout the county and in nearby communities. It takes a lot of work for community events and factoring Mother Nature is a hurdle many try to simply avoid. THANK YOU to all those that put in time, effort and even monetary contributions to continue the countless community events that we are blessed to attend (if we so choose).
