Annual Flu Shot Clinics Planned For Next Month

Several flu shot clinics are being planned during October for residents to take proactive measures, if they choose to participate.

Several flu shot clinics are being planned during October for residents to take proactive measures, if they choose to participate.

The Greenwood County Health Department is hosting nine different clinics throughout the month of October. On Monday, October 2, a clinic will be held in Madison from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., in front of the Sauder Building. From 3-4:30 p.m., a clinic will be held in front of the health department, in Eureka. Clinics will continue on Wednesday, October 3. From 10:30-11:30 a.m., a clinic will be held in from of the Severy Senior Center and from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m., a clinic will be held in front of the Fall River Community Building. The health department will travel to Neal, Hamilton and Virgil on Friday, October 5. They will be at the Neal Community Center from 9:30-10 a.m., at the Hamilton Senior Center from 10:30-11:15 a.m. and at Virgil City Hall from 1-1:30 p.m. The health department will conclude their clinics on Tuesday, October 10 with clinics in Reece and Piedmont. They will be at the Piedmont United Methodist Church from 2-2:30 p.m. and at the Reece Christian Church from 3:15-3:45 p.m. Patrons should bring a copy of all their insurance cards. CareArc will be hosting drive-thru flu clinics. The first will be held at the Emporia location on Friday, October 6, from 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. and the second being held on Friday, October 13, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., at their Eureka location, located at 1602 N. Elm St, Eureka. Those attending should bring their insurance cards. For more information, contact CareArc at 620583-7436.

These drive-thru clinics offer a hassle-free way for residents aged six months and older to receive their annual flu vaccinations. No appointments are needed.

High dose of the flu vaccine are available for anyone 65 and older.
