Competed At Southeast Area 4-H Livestock Contests

The Greenwood County 4-H Judging Teams traveled to Iola for the 2024 Southeast Area 4-H Livestock Contests on Thursday, June 27. Both Junior and Senior Teams had a great day competing in three contests.

The Greenwood County 4-H Judging Teams traveled to Iola for the 2024 Southeast Area 4-H Livestock Contests on Thursday, June 27. Both Junior and Senior Teams had a great day competing in three contests.

The teams began the day with the Meat Judging Contest where the Junior Team of Sydney Lindamood, Henry Perrier, Jorja Beeman and Henry Lindamood took home the honor of Champion Team. Individually overall, places first through third were captured by the Greenwood County Team with S. Lindamood in first, Beeman in second and Perrier in third. H. Lindamood also took home fifth high individual overall. It was a great day for the Junior Team.

The Senior Meat Judging Team of Addison Westerman, Cody Johnson and Cort Decker finished the day as the Reserve Champion Team. Westerman took high individual overall honors with her teammates Johnson in fifth and Decker in seventh.

The Junior Livestock Skillathon Team of S. Lindamood, Beeman, Perrier, and H. Lindamood were the Reserve Champion Team with Beeman finishing the contest fourth place high individual overall.

Seniors Westerman and Decker competed as individuals in the Senior Livestock Skillathon where Westerman was eighth and Decker was ninth high individual overall in the contest.

In the Livestock Judging Contest, the Junior Team finished in third place. Beeman was fourth high individual overall and S. Lindamood was 10th. Perrier and H. Lindamood completed the Junior Team.

The Senior Livestock Judging Team of Westerman, Johnson and Decker finished the day as the sixth place team. Westerman was named the sixth high individual overall.

The Teams had a successful day of learning and will continue to work as they prepare for the State Livestock Sweepstakes Contests in August. (Courtesy photo)
