The May 13 meeting was called to order by Council President Norma Jones at 7 p.m. with the following council members and city officers present: James Cude, Lori McCaffree, Dave Vance, Sue York, City Clerk Jody Thomas, Public Enforcement Officer Crystal Thomas, Treasurer Cathy Ivey and City Attorney Alleen Van-Bebber. Mayor Brendan Coulter and Streets - Joe Simon were absent.

Council member Cude stated he would get with Simon about the streets and discuss how to fix the alley behind City Hall and the Post Office.

The water/sewer inspection for the city water was conducted on May 23. Ivey reported that the water bill is back to normal since the leak was found and fixed.

During fire department discussion, Haskell Fogle stated he had not yet received the new credit card for the gas pumps. It was to be delivered when the fuel delivery was made.

Public Enforcement Officer Thomas shared she had sent out seven violations. She if she needed permission from the council to run VIN numbers for abandoned vehicles. It was decided that the City Clerk would run them.

The April 8 meeting minutes, as well as the monthly bills report, were approved as presented.

During the treasurer’s report. Treasurer Ivey reported the audit was completed. The city received another round of opioid funds. The report was approved as presented.

Regarding the budget, Treasurer Ivey is watching the General Account closely so the city can transfer money if needed. The CD will renew for 5.25%. The budget was approved.

The library received $737.05 from the raffle. The library is planning a swim party in July but no date has been set. The bathroom remodel will start soon.

During refuse discussion, it was shared that $550.20 has been paid to Green Environmental for the City Wide Clean-up plus $200 to Billy Ecton for smashing down the dumpsters, totaling $750.20.

In old business, Clerk Thomas was to order a new camera. The grant was not received for replacing water lids and rings. Attorney VanBebber noted there is another round of funding coming so the City will be able to apply again. Council member Cude met with Greenwood County EMS to go over procedures for Opioid Training.

A 20-minute executive session was held with Attorney VanBebber. No action was taken.

In new business, Mark Ward presented a handout of some railings he could build for the steps along Merchants Street. Cude discussed the need for a safety deposit box at the bank, which was approved by the council.

The meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m.

The next regular meeting of the City of Fall River will be held July 8 at 7 p.m.
