Assisted Living To Open In July • Rosann Knight Returns As Executive Director

After needed renovations at The Mapleton – Eureka, tenants began taking advantage of independent living apartments and Bed & Breakfast options last month. Now, management is hopeful to open the assisted living portion in July.

The facility, formerly Vintage Park at Eureka a Grace Management facility, closed in December 2021 and community members and leaders began brainstorming and communicating with potential entrepreneurs to ensure that the assisted living facility returned to Eureka. In the fall of 2023, Chase and Carly Thornock, along with a few of his brothers whom he partners with purchased the facility and began the lengthy process of renovations and completing various state requirements.

The renovations were broken out in three phases; the first two are complete and offer a combined 24 rooms, 12 of which are available to rent, currently. There are 12 assisted living rooms, 7 apartments and 3 bed and breakfast rooms. The third phase will include 10 rooms; however, renovations are still pending.

“I’m excited to be back in Eureka,” stated Executive Director of The Mapleton Rosann Knight. “I want to see the facility succeed and look to open the assisted living portion to residents in mid-July,” she continued. Knight, who has 15 years of experience in assisted living, began her career in 2009 at Eureka Nursing Center. She later became the executive director at Vintage Park at Eureka and served in that role until 2016 when she accepted a promotion with the company, where she recently concluded her 11th year with Grace Management.

Last week, Knight shared that the facility is looking for LPNs, CMAs and CNAs to staff the facility. The Mapleton – Eureka is also taking residents’ names with plans of them moving in as early as mid-July.

All assisted living apartments at the multi-generational facility offer meal service, medication management, laundry and housekeeping.

The Mapleton – Eureka is the second assisted living center the Thornocks have opened, as they also have The Mapleton in Andover.

Currently, the facility doesn’t accept Medicaid; however, Knight noted that she is hopeful to offer the option in the future.
