Tree Shakin Sho Down Held Fishing Contest/Fish Fry

A total of 20 teams joined together on the weekend of May 30-June 2, for the 13th annual Tree Shakin Sho Down fishing tournament.

A total of 20 teams joined together on the weekend of May 30-June 2, for the 13th annual Tree Shakin Sho Down fishing tournament.

The flathead tournament yielded 310.4 pounds of catfish on day one and 194.5 pounds on day two. The biggest fish, weighing 41.8 pounds, was turned in by “Cherry Creek Catfish,” which was comprised of Mack Shepherd and Dylan Hamilton.

With 137.1 pounds throughout the tournament, “South of 400 Perch Burner’s” won the tournament. Team members were Kenny Cummings and Cody Rolph. M. Shepherd and Hamilton claimed second place with a total weight of 61.5 pounds. “Tornado Catfish,” with team members Amelia and Shannon Shepherd, placed third with 57.1 pounds.

The annual event concluded with a fish fry, open to the community, at Eureka Downs.

All proceeds from the annual event go to the Greenwood County Wild Kansas Association to assist with disaster relief funding within Greenwood County.
