Twenty-Seven Teams Competed In Inaugural Clasen Family Memorial Junior/Senior Golf Tournament

The inaugural Clasen Family Memorial junior/ senior golf tournament was held on Saturday, June 22, at the Eureka Country Club, with 27 teams competing for top honors.

15-18 Winners

The inaugural Clasen Family Memorial junior/ senior golf tournament was held on Saturday, June 22, at the Eureka Country Club, with 27 teams competing for top honors.

This tournament replaced the Forest Graves Memorial Tournament that has been held for several years.

Teams were comprised of a “junior,” youth ages 9-18 and a “senior,” an adult.

Participants hit tee shots, picked the best ball and completed the hole by taking alternate shots.

The winning score was a 38, turned in by Liam Mead and his father Justin, who competed in the 12-14 age division. Four teams shot a 41, with scorecard playoffs breaking the tie.

Winners are pictured above from left to right: 9-11:

1st, Brylee and Isaac Boone, 41; 2nd, Miah and Bryan Hughes, 41; and 3rd, Molly Dehlinger and Chris Neel, 44. Also participating in this age division were: Logan Morris and Gene Chastain, 45; Tanner and Walker Wade, 45; Ridge and Heath Samuels, 46; Asher Boone and Jack Hillman, 48; Tucker and DaQota Williams, 49; Hank Dehlinger and Ron Hawthorne, 52; Tobin Hall and Matt Wright, 53; and Hayden and Shawn Dean 58.

12-14:

1st, Liam and Justin Mead, 38; 2nd, Noah Riemann and Jay McKenzie, 41; 3rd, Nolan Riemann and Jacob McKenzie, 41. Also participating in this age division were: Maverick Welsh and Dwayne Williams, 47; Celona and Brandon Hall, 50; Wacey Ross and Holly Edmondson, 51; Kole Swafford and Jackie Sundgren, 55; Zavien and Justin Kern, 58; Maddox Hughes and Trevor Donaldson, 60; Natalie Pennington and Russ Hewitt 60; Reata and Brian Bogle, 65; and Casen Wamsher and Troy Scott, 72.

15-18:

1st, Annaliese and Steve Casper, 43; 2nd, Zekiah Kern and Charlie Samuels, 43; and 3rd, Mason and Kenton Hughes, 44. Also participating in this age division were Jonah and Leevi Werner, 77.

Closest to the pin:

Juniors were able to compete for a hole prize on number six with the following receiving the honors: 9-11: Logan Morris; 12-14: Noah Riemann; and 15-18: Annaliese Casper. Pictured from left to right, at left, are: Noah Riemann, Morris and A. Casper.

Proceeds from the event will be used towards scholarships for future area graduates.
