Three teams gathered at Terradyne Country Club, in Wichita, on Thursday, June 13, for the fifth annual Kan sas Press Association (KPA) four-person scramble.
Claiming the KPA Golf Scramble championship this year was the Kingman Leader- Courier. The Kingman Leader-Courier team was comprised of Jason Jump, Micah Jump, Kory Meireis and Kyle Meireis. They fin ished the round 6 under par, with a 65. The Eureka Herald, comprised of staff members Lexie Biering, Paige Blakley and Robin Wunderlich and guest Heath Sam- uels, finished 4 under par, with a 67, to place second.
Also competing in the fifth annual event were Doug and Lucinda Anstaett and Dr.
Charles and Nancy Craig.
During the event, the following proximity contests were held: Longest putt: Samuels Longest Drive (men): Kyle Meireis Longest Drive (women): L. Anstaett Closest to the pin: Dr. Craig.
The Eureka Herald claimed the title in 2020 and shared the title in 2024 with the Kingman Leader- Courier.
The location of the KPA golf scramble in 2025 is to be determined.
