Toronto News

I looked out the bathroom window early Monday morning and saw a deer grazing across the street just south of our house with not a care in the world. Got to love living in a small town.

Toronto Day’s kicks off next Monday with the Medallion hunt. Hard to believe, but it’s true, one more week and it’s Toronto Day’s. I hope the weather is not as hot as it has been the past few days. Please drink lots of water the day before and during the days of festivities!

What does antedate mean?

There sure is a lot of bridge replacement going on in the area. Homer Creek bridge on Highway 54 west of Neal, Cedar Creek bridge on Highway 105, and now the twin bridges east of Yates Center. Haven’t been south lately, so I don’t know about down that way.

Hello to all in area nursing and assisted living facilities. Hello also to all in area hospitals and rehab centers.

We offer our sympathy to all who lost loved ones this past week. May they all rest in peace.

I laughed so hard last Saturday when I read the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office incident log in The Eureka Herald. Being pulled over and ticketed for speeding is bad enough, but some guy got pulled over for 103 mph in a 65 mph zone on Highway 400! If that wasn’t bad enough, after receiving his ticket and getting back on the road, he drove three miles and got pulled over again for 80 in a 65!!

I’ve heard of slow learners, but I would say he was a no learner! I then read the traffic ticket reports and noticed many people driving over the speed limit in construction zones! That is dangerous and extremely reckless. Driving 85 in 50 construction work zone?! Come on people, get real.

Answer: Precede Lots of fun coming soon for Toronto Day’s so watch for fliers and ads in papers with schedules of all the events. I’m hoping for funnel cakes and Navajo tacos again! Been a long time since I’ve had a funnel cake. Maybe this year?!
