The 2024 Greenwood County Fair will kick-off early this year as Shooting Sports events will be held this Saturday and Sunday.
This year’s annual archery competition will be held on Saturday, June 22, at 9 a.m., at the Eureka Lake dam. A small portion of the walking trail to the north of the spillway will be closed during the event from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. Participants will compete in a FITA and 3-D contest.
The annual shotgun competition will be held on Sunday, June 23, at 4 p.m., at the Eureka Lake gun range, located at 1667 P Road. Participants will shoot trap and skeet.
Spectators are welcome to attend both events. Those attending should bring a lawn chair, bug spray, sunscreen, possibly a shade apparatus and water for hydration.
A shooting sports awards banquet, for participants and their families, will be held at the Eureka United Methodist Church following the shotgun contest, at approximately 7 p.m.
