WELCA met April 6 at the Eureka Christ Lutheran Church in the Bell Tower Room with Joni Booth presiding.
Sue Erickson gave devotions on the 23rd Psalm, giving phrase by phrase meanings.
Roll call was answered by five members with a Bible verse.
Sue Erickson, Secretary, read the minutes of April 4, as no May meeting was held. Margaret Spires gave the Treasurer’s report.
Communications included invitations: Oaks mission dedication of Marshall Cottage, Oaks, Okla. in July; Central Conference, Lindsborg in October.
Old business by Camille Frakes: VBS successful with 48 youth attending, including helpers and attendees from the Methodist and Christian Congregation Churches, with the Christ Lutheran Church hosting.
Spires gave the program on “5 Good Things” using verses from Psalm 107. Members assisted with Bible verses.
Announcements included Sue Ellen Wenthe will be supplying the pastor for July at both churches while Brian Bauer is on vacation.
No July 4 meeting; WELCA will meet August 1. Frakes will give devotions, program to be announced and refreshments will be provided by Grace Stacy.
The meeting adjourned. Booth served cookies and coffee.
