Eureka Man Killed In Vehicle Accident In Coffey County

A Eureka man lost his life last Wednesday, September 13, following a two-vehicle accident shortly after 6 p.m., on Wednesday, September 13, in Coffey County, just south of the I-35 intersection.

A Eureka man lost his life last Wednesday, September 13, following a two-vehicle accident shortly after 6 p.m., on Wednesday, September 13, in Coffey County, just south of the I-35 intersection.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol crash logs, a 2009 Kenworth, driven by Johnnie L. Snodgrass, 67, of Mound City, was coming out of the truck stop and attempting to go northbound on U75, when a 2010 Ford Expedition, driven by Angelo V. Turner, 51, of Eureka, struck the fifth axle of the semi. Turner was traveling southbound on U75.

Turner was fatally injured.

Snodgrass appeared to have no injuries.

This accident remains under investigation.
