Toronto News

Sunday morning Toronto was a buzzing and I don’t mean from bees, flies or mosquitoes. The town was buzzing with the sound of chainsaws as people were busy trying to clean their yards after the storm that blew through early Sunday morning toppled trees, breaking limbs and downing power lines.

Several trees were uprooted and many more had broken limbs. Lawn furniture was thrown astray small limbs and twigs were scattered over all the streets in town like some form of giant confetti. Several streets were blocked off due to trees down.

Neighbors were helping neighbors and our mayor, Randy Schumacher, designated an area to be a temporary place to pile limbs.

Some residents lost power due to downed lines and others received damage to their houses due to fallen trees. I didn’t hear about any injuries due to the storm. Hopefully nobody was injured. The weatherman said this weekend marked the end of the official spring storm season. I know many people around town hope that is true.

Which is more expensive: movie theater popcorn or filet mignon?

Hello to all in area nursing and assisted living facilities. Hello also to all in area hospitals and rehab centers.

We offer our sympathy to those who lost loved ones this past week. May they rest in peace.

The Toronto Library was a busy place this past week as their summer programs kicked off. Many kids attended and enjoyed a story read to them by Caitlin Ralstin. More fun is scheduled for the coming weeks, with a fun day each week.

Can you believe that Toronto Day’s kicks off in 22 days? It doesn’t seem like it should be that time of year again. The medallion hunt starts on Monday, July 1.

Answer: Movie theater popcorn is far more expensive than a filet. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather have a filet mignon than movie theater popcorn any day or time of the week! I’m an oddball I guess, I don’t like movie theater popcorn. Too much butter and salt.
